20 ways to create a happier you in 2017


Life, for the majority of us can be a real b*tch sometimes. It's a real rollercoaster of emotion and 2016 for many of us was a real pain. Life seemed to throw many obstacles in our way to test and trial us, to see if we could get over, under and round it. We spend most of our life waiting for something to happen, for the weekend, for pay day, for something better. 

I often sit and wonder "why me? Why is life doing this to me? What have I done to deserve this?". In a fews years ago, I seemingly had been dealt a hand of cards by life that I would rather not have had. I wanted to run away from everything, hide in my room or sleep all the time.

My very first blogpost on this little internet space of mine, about 2 1/2 years ago, highlighted just how challenging my life had become at the age of 17. I was exhausted emotionally and physically. I had become a shell of my former self, I felt I was drowning. In all honesty, that dark period of time, saw me lose a lot of the people I thought were friends. I had to start over again and get my act together. Anxiety was in charge of my life, I was unhappy, I had multiple panic attacks, I could no longer do the things I once was able to. That scared me! I thought back then, when I wrote the post that I had begun looking at things differently, but I really hadn't not until now! 

"I have begun to like who I am and become more comfortable with myself, looking at things from a new perspective and looking at the positive things, not looking back into the past, because the past is in the past - it has happened and you can't do a thing to change it as everything happens for a reason. Your past shapes who you are today, it might make you weaker or it might make you stronger. You use it to your ability; whether you dwell on the past or whether you look at it and think "yeah that has happened and I didn't like it, but I can't do anything to change it so I'll learn from it and move on." You can't change what has happened but you can learn from your mistakes made and you can use it to change your future and sculpt it into something you'd like to live." 

The biggest thing is that I LIKE WHO I AM and I'm a much more positive person!
 "Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself" and it's never too late to start over, if you aren't happy, try differently tomorrow!

16. Don't seek happiness, instead live in the moment - happiness will find you
