The Queen's Fly Past

Each year, regiments of the British and Commonwealth armies perform a ceremony known as Trooping of the Colour to mark the official birthday of the British Sovereign. This year marked the Queen at 90.

Following a march past at Horse Guards Parade, the royal family return to Buckingham Palace to watch a further march past outside the gates. After a 41 gun salute, the queen and her family appear on the balcony to watch the Royal Air Force's fly past.

I'm lucky enough that where I live is directly underneath the flight path on the way to London. It virtually flies over my house. So I get to see the fly past without having to go up to London - and then I see it all over again on the TV! It becomes a little tradition that everyone on my road comes out of their houses onto the road to watch as the planes fly over head. I love watching it, it's so amazing seeing all these planes! I'm not sure what plane is which though! I watched as the red arrows got into formation as they came overhead. It was incredible!

Here are the pictures:

Even the cat came out to watch!!
